Charlotte's journey toward specialized medical care
Accepted by Mayo Clinic
Charlotte's journey toward specialized medical care began in late September, when her medical records were formally submitted to Mayo Clinic for review. What followed was an encouraging development — after evaluating her case, Mayo Clinic extended an offer for Charlotte to be seen by their Pediatric Gastroenterology department. This is a significant step. Mayo Clinic's gastroenterology program is among the finest in the world, and the fact that they have accepted Charlotte's case means she has real access to answers and treatment that simply are not available to her at home. Like Michelle, Charlotte's approval carries a six-month window. The next steps are clear but require immediate financial support. Her care team needs to pay a deposit to officially secure her appointment, and from there, travel dates will need to be selected and arrangements made. Getting Charlotte from Silang, Cavite to Mayo Clinic is not a simple journey — it involves international travel, accommodation, and all the costs that come with it, in addition to the medical expenses themselves.
Hope within reach
Charlotte's story is one of hope within reach. The hard work of getting her case in front of Mayo Clinic's specialists has already been done. What stands between Charlotte and the care she needs right now is financial support from people who are willing to make a difference in the life of a child who has no other way to get there.
